I can't help you there. My Judges wife passed away a couple days before my hearing. I kind of think I was approved because he fell asleep on the bench. There are 2 other people besides you, your lawyer and the judge. 1 is their "medical person" and the other tells him if there are any kind of jobs that you "should" be able to do.

Thanks I do have an attorney and I have a range of issues stemming from CAH. Any advice on what to say to a judge during hearing?

I've been on disability for the last 20 some odd years. You're going to need a good lawyer and hope their Drs understand that we're definitely not all alike.

That's a really important question, and it's one that comes up in the CAH community. While there isn't specific guidance available here on the disability application process, it's worth knowing that CAH can involve several serious health challenges that may support a disability claim.

That's a really important question, and it's one that comes up in the CAH community. While there isn't specific guidance available here on the disability application process, it's worth knowing that CAH can involve several serious health challenges that may support a disability claim.
Some of the CAH-related conditions that could be relevant to a disability application include:
- Adrenal crises – which can be life-threatening and unpredictable
- Fatigue and hormone imbalances – which can affect daily functioning
- High blood pressure – a known comorbidity of CAH
- Mental health challenges – including depression and anxiety, which are more common in people with CAH
- Bone health issues – including low bone density and fracture risk
Documenting all of these with your healthcare team is key. A strong application typically includes detailed medical records, specialist letters, and a clear picture of how CAH impacts your daily life and ability to work.
Connecting with a disability attorney or advocate who has experience with chronic conditions can also make a big difference in navigating the process.
